Void Energy Management Scheme
Improving Quality and Service for your Tenants

 
PCL Energy Services Scheme (PCL-E) is an award winning energy service, which operates throughout the UK.

It has been designed to help Registered Social Landlords (RSL’s) deal with energy issues in its properties.
The scheme benefits RSL’s in four key areas.

  • Improved quality and customer service
  • Reduces staff time dealing with energy issues in void properties.
  • The scheme generates funding

The scheme provides a management system for dealing with energy supply once a property becomes vacant (or void). This helps RSL's deal with issues relating to the energy supply for workmen, pre payment metres and debt issues for previous tenants. It provides services and tools to help staff and tenants navigate the confusing energy market as well as assisting tenants with a range of useful information guides relating to their energy supplies. PCL - E currently operates with fifteen RSL partners some of which have been members since PCL - E started in 2002. 

 

Paul Williams, Head of Asset Management at Axiom Housing, said of the scheme, "The service is an excellent way for our tenants to have the opportunity of purchasing their utilities at a competitive rate, without being bombarded by sales people looking for commission. The feedback from our tenants is all good; many appreciate the benefits PCL-E offers them. From an association point of view, we benefit considerably by having a centralised contact point at PCL-E instead of being passed around by the utility company. Also the scheme has allowed us to purchase gas and electricity to undertake void works and a gas safety inspection to the property prior to an incoming tenant. This has reduced our void time, and ensured the gas and electrical installation and appliances are in a safe condition when the tenant moves in.".

There are no set up costs to start the scheme and its operation is totally funded by the income received via the fuel supply company.
